Well we had a great last day. Today we got to play tourist. We had a lot of things we planned to do but just ran out of day for it all.
Bobs back has not bothered him much today so thank you all for praying for relief from his pain. God definitely anwered.
This morning after breakfast we went to Sevestopol and bought diapers for the baby orphanage. Then we went for a visit. It is a nice facility but is still a facility. I know that those of you on the cruise saw many more than we but for us it was tough. Eric gave soccer balls, Bob gave about 20 lbs of crayons and I had candy in addition to 11 cases of diapers we purchased this morning. We were all struck by how much the kids wanted attentuon on the one hand but how many were afraid to come near on the other. As usual Bob had no trouble making a friend while there. A precious 2 year old named constantine that wouldn,t let go of his hand when we had to go. I lknow that was tough for him as he has a real love for children.
We were only able to stay a little over an hour. We did see one young man there who was in the process of adopting his own sister in orderto keep the family together. Their mother had died and he and his brother just became old enough to adopt and they are wasting no time in adopting their baby sister. She was only 18 months old.
After the orphanage we went to Eagle village and got to see the new mission headquarters. It is still under construction but the exterior walls are up on one of the two buildings planned.
After our time in the village we headed back to sevestopol to catch the train. We have been riding now for about 5 hours just resting talking and Bob has been beating me badly at chess.
We get to kiev tomorrow where we will meet up with Yuri who came ahead of us twodays ago. Ira has been taking good care of us. Then we meet up with Rex,s team and board the plane for Amsterdam and ultimately the good ole USA. This will be my last post. We thank God for the opportunity to serve. Please give Rex with team three and Ken withteam four your support through comments and prayers as well. They really do make a difference. God bless you all we are homeward bound. See you Sunday evening. Passing the torch to Rex and signing off. Sean
