Thankful for You

With Thanksgiving around the corner, many of us will gather around a table and share what we’re thankful for. In that same spirit, we’d like to take this opportunity to share what we’re grateful for this year — and that’s YOU, our faithful Prayer Partners, Home-Team, Supporters, Partner Churches, Board of Directors and dedicated Team both here and in Ukraine.

Because of your friendship to this ministry and your prayers and support of the UKRAINE: FAMILY EMERGENCY FUND, you are the reason we continue to be able to minister exponentially throughout these past eight months and going forward to help them survive the winter.

As you read this updates, you will see our UKRAINE: FAMILY EMERGENCY FUND AT WORK, and I hope you will be reminded that your prayers and support have directly, tangibly helped the lives of Ukrainian families and children.

From our families to yours, and with a grateful heart, we wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

GENERATORS PURCHASED AND DELIVERED

With the latest increase in air attacks on power stations, it is heartbreaking to know that electricity and heat is becoming more scarce throughout most of the country.

To help our families survive the winter, we have been purchasing and delivering generators to those sheltering themselves (and others) in their homes, as well as propane tanks to those who have gas stoves.

Last week, we delivered a generator to Sveta’s family. Sveta is our first HopeHouse Daughter who speaks at our galas, and her father is pictured on top right. The very next day, both power plants in their city were destroyed. Her family received it just in time, which is yet another example of the Lord’s provision through your help.

Those HopeHouse Families who have remained in their homes have used the blessing of their homes to shelter and feed other displaced families. In just one example, one HopeHouse Family has housed over 100 families for varying lengths of time since the beginning of the war. In spite of their own exhaustion they feed, launder, encourage, and minister to them. They continually pour into others the love of Christ with a strength that only God can supply. Through the resourcefulness of our HopeHouse Families and your prayers and support, God has met their needs and multiplied what they have to share with others.

HOPEHOUSE FATHERS MINISTER TO UKRAINIAN SOLDIERS

There is a spiritual revival in Ukraine with millions coming to know the Lord! Due to the urgent requests for Bibles among soldiers, we have supplied hundreds of Ukrainian Bibles to our HopeHouse Fathers serving as military chaplains. They distribute Bibles among the many soldiers who have won their most important battle: the one for eternity.

WARTIME MINISTRY

God has opened doors for us to provide a Transitional Housing Center for our HopeHouse Families in order to meet emerging wartime needs. As visas expire for those seeking refuge in neighboring countries and as community infrastructure is destroyed and potentially more family homes, this transitional housing center, which we have named Hope Ranch, is a true answer to prayer. It enables us to shelter and assist HopeHouse Families who cannot yet return home. We can do so immediately while expanding its capabilities in the coming months to shelter a total of 24 families at one time. HopeHouse Families will receive the following during their temporary residence at Hope Ranch:

  • Intensive trauma/PTSD counseling
  • Medical care
  • Job opportunities for lost jobs
  • Vocational training for new jobs
  • Private tutoring for school preparedness
  • Mentoring for relocation, renovations, and returning home

This Center is tucked away in a mountainous area in a region considered the safest possible in Ukraine, as it borders five NATO countries. The property is self-sustaining. It is not dependent on city water, electricity, or gas.

Hope Ranch will meet emergency, critical needs during this war, but it will also become a foundational resource for HopeHouse as we proceed with housing and orphan adoptions for the years that follow.

The goal of HopeHouse International is the same in wartime and in peacetime: to continue cultivating healthy future generations for Christ. Thank you for the many ways that you partner with us to do that.
