Update On Our Families

Thank you for continuing to pray for us and for the situation in Ukraine. The Lord has blessed us with your encouragement, and we thank Him for your overwhelming early response to our UKRAINE: FAMILY EMERGENCY FUND announced in yesterday’s email, Ukraine Update #2.

We wanted to provide an update on our HopeHouse Families both in Ukraine and beyond its borders. So far, Co-Founder and International Director Yuri Yakovlyev has been able to contact many of our families. Most are accounted for and he will continue to try and reach everyone. We will assess the degree of damages once it’s safe to do so. Of the families Yuri has talked with, they are emotionally spent and scared, but as of today they are safe!

Below are the most recent updates:

  • We evacuated four HopeHouse families out of the Kharkiv Region.
  • We evacuated families from around Kiev.
  • Many HopeHouse Families are staying home and using their houses to help other refugees in need of food and shelter.
  • Some HopeHouse Families have fled to the western parts of Ukraine for safety until they can return home.
  • HopeHouse Fathers who are pastors are coordinating with local churches to help refugees in need of food and shelter.
  • Our HopeHouse Families in Romania have offered shelter to any of our Ukrainian families who might cross the border in the days ahead.
  • Our five HopeHouse young men serving in the Ukrainian military as of today are safe.

We thank God for His protection over these many families and for the work He is currently doing through them, as they serve as the hands and feet of Christ to those in need around them.

As we try to keep you informed during this critical time in Ukraine, please add deneen@hopehouseinternational.org to your contact list to prevent emails from going to spam or junk mail.

Thank you again for your greatly coveted prayers for Ukraine, our ministry and our HopeHouse Families.
